About
Frisco Reach Out is the collaborative effort of two local non-profit organizations—KingdomLife International and The Word Center. The effort began in June 2009 when these two Frisco-based organizations began feeling the need to establish a Christ-centered expression of the kingdom of God in the heart of downtown. For years, both organizations had spent their time taking the Gospel and humanitarian relief into the hearts of U.S. cities and foreign countries around the world, but they began to wonder, “What about Frisco?” They saw the need for a kingdom expression on the home front as well and, after a time of prayer and dialogue, they launched Frisco Reach Out.
Since then, Frisco Reach Out has become a beacon of light to the city of Frisco. The first thing the leadership team did was organize a city-wide event targeted at helping residents who live in lower income area of Frisco. The first event took place on Saturday, August 15, 2009, and featured a free school supply giveaway and back to school vaccinations for school age children. Over 250 full sets of school supplies were given out on that day, and over 400 Frisco residents were ministered to. The event was doubly blessed when the mayor of Frisco showed up, and even volunteered to help out wherever he could. Following the August event, Frisco Reach Out decided that it couldn’t stop there. The leadership team once again decided to do another event to reach out to the needs of Frisco by planning a December reach out called “The Joy of Christmas.” This event, hosted on December 12, 2009, will focus on giving away over 300 toys to children in need, and over 100 boxes of food to Frisco families. Free medical attention will also be administered on that day.
Frisco Reach Out continues to increase month by month. The work being done in downtown Frisco is making a difference, and it ultimately brings glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
